Frequently Asked Questions: Inca TimberWax Paste Wax Beeswax Furniture Polish Black 250g
What is Inca TimberWax Black Paste Wax designed for?
Black Paste Wax is a richly pigmented beeswax intended for very dark or black-stained furniture, helping restore colour depth and cover surface imperfections.
Is the pigment strong enough to mask scratches or fading?
Yes — the Black pigment can effectively blend minor wear, scratches, or faded zones in dark wood finishes while still providing the full protective benefits of wax.
What surfaces work best with this wax?
Best for sealed timber or veneer in dark wood types (e.g. ebony, wenge, dark walnut). Avoid for very light woods unless intentionally creating contrast.
How do I apply Black Paste Wax?
-
Clean and dry thoroughly.
-
Apply thin coat with a soft cloth, following the grain.
-
Allow a few minutes to settle.
-
Buff with a clean cloth until the surface feels even and smooth.
-
For deeper masking, additional thin layering can help.
How frequently should I refresh this dark wax finish?
Typically every 4–8 months, depending on usage. Use a matching dark liquid wax for interim maintenance.
Will the black pigment wear off over time?
If properly applied and buffed, the pigment remains stable. However, high-friction zones may lighten; reapply thinly as needed.
Can I mix Black Paste Wax with other colours?
Mixing should be done cautiously. A small amount of Black on Clear or Brown wax can tint finish, but care is needed to prevent color muddiness.
Is this black furniture wax harsh or chemical-laden?
No — Inca Timber Wax formulations do not contain petrochemicals or silicones. It has a combination of pure Australian beeswax, natural tree oils and a black colour pigment for safe application.
Is the wax safe for indoor use and for furniture in homes?
Yes — it's manufactured from 100% natural pure Australian beeswax and tree oils and is free of petro-chemicals and silicones, the wax is safe for indoor furniture care and won’t compromise air quality.
Is the Inca Furniture Wax Paste Black 1oo% Australian Made?
Yes. The entire Inca range is Australian made using locally sourced beeswax and tree oils, supporting Australian manufacturing and ensuring premium quality.

Always test in an inconspicuous area before full application. Results may vary depending on furniture age, finish, and type of timber. Aussie Furniture Care is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect use.
Usage Instructions: Apply a small amount of wax on a clean lint-free cloth and rub in a circular motion, finishing along the grain. Allow it to dry until it squeaks when rubbed with fingertips, then buff off with a soft polishing cloth, finishing with the grain. For best results, apply two thin coats rather than one thick one.
