FAQ’s
-
Will these stop my bed from sliding on the carpet when I lean against it? Yes. Standard castor wheels roll easily over carpet fibers. The CB420 uses blunt-end spikes that anchor the cup into the carpet. Once your bed’s wheels are sitting in these cups, they won’t budge, providing a secure feel on even the plushest rugs or carpets.
-
Do the spikes damage the carpet or the floor underneath? No. The spikes are designed to be “carpet-friendly.” They are rounded at the tips so they part the carpet fibers rather than cutting them. They are suitable for use over timber sub-floors, concrete, or particle board without causing structural damage.
-
Are these strong enough for an upright piano? Absolutely. Each cup is rated to support up to 250kg (a total of 1000kg for a set of four). This makes them the gold standard for heavy items like pianos, antique sideboards, and billiard tables that need to remain perfectly level and stationary.

What is the difference between these and the rubber-bottom cups? The rubber-bottom cups (like the CB840) are for Hard Floors (Timber, Tile, Vinyl). These CB420 cups are for Carpet only. Rubber bases slide on carpet, whereas these spiked bases lock in, providing the stability you need for textile surfaces.
