FAQ’s

  • Can I add these wheels to furniture that doesn’t currently have castors? Yes! If you have a stationary piece of timber furniture (like a kitchen prep table or a storage unit) that you want to make mobile, you can drill a hole and use a standard 11mm castor socket (sold separately or available in most hardware kits) to accept these CB681 stems. It’s an easy way to transform heavy, static furniture into a maneuverable, floor-safe unit.

  • Will these wheels fit my kitchen island or mobile storage unit? Yes, provided your current wheels use a standard “push-in” stem. The CB681 features a universal 11mm (7/16″) stem, which is the most common fitment for modern Australian furniture. They are a perfect “plug-and-play” solution to make heavy mobile furniture safer for your floors.

  • How do these protect timber floors better than standard wheels? Standard plastic wheels are rigid and trap dirt, which then grinds into your floorboards. The CB681 uses a soft-tread rubber that rolls over micro-debris rather than pressing it into the wood, effectively eliminating the “sandpaper effect” and keeping your floor’s polyurethane or wax finish intact.

  • Are these wheels silent on hard tiles? Absolutely. One of the biggest benefits of the rubber tread is the noise reduction. These wheels dampen vibration, turning the “clatter” of a moving chair or trolley into a silent, smooth glide—ideal for open-plan living and apartments.

  • What is the weight limit for this 4-pack? Each wheel is rated to support 36kg, giving the 4-pack a total load capacity of 144kg. This makes them perfect for most household furniture, computer chairs and light-duty workshop trolleys.

Will the rollers slide while you are trying to sit on the chair Wendy brown asked on 7 October, 2024

Hi Wendy,
It is possible they could roll given these are suitable for hard floors and they don't have a locking device. But it all depends how you are placing yourself into the chair also to determine if it will slide or not. So it could glide I would say.

Thanks
Kellie
