Many standard black wheels are made of hard plastic or low-quality rubber that can “leach” oils or leave dark scuff marks on light-colored floors. The CB684 uses a specialised non-marking grey rubber compound that is guaranteed safe for even the most sensitive light timber, hybrid and vinyl floors.
Are these strong enough for a heavy executive office chair? Yes. These are the “Executive” grade of the Slipstick range. The twin-wheel design distributes weight more effectively than single wheels, and the set is rated to hold a total of 225kg (500lbs), making them suitable for 24/7 use in professional environments.
How do I install these? Do I need tools? Installation is a simple “pull-and-push” task. You do not need any tools. Simply pull the old castors out of the chair base and firmly push the new CB684 universal 11mm stems into the sockets until they click.
Can these be used on thin-pile carpets or rugs?While these are optimised for hard floors (where they provide the best grip and silence), they also perform well on very low-pile commercial carpets. For medium to thick plush carpets, we recommend the CB690 Roller Blade style wheels.
