Start with vacuuming or dust mopping to remove loose dirt. and grit from the surface this will also reduce abrasion.

Next lightly damp mop the floor using a neutral PH floor cleaner to remove soiling. Always spray the cleaner lightly ahead of the area you a mopping as this will keep moisture to a minimum. Allow to dry.

Never overwet the surface with water or cleaning products as the laminate can absorb the water and cause warping and other problems.

  • Always mop up and dry liquid spills immediately
  • When you’re cleaning laminate flooring, never use harsh or abrasive cleaners, steel wool, scouring powder, or soap–based detergents.
  • Make sure you never use waxes or polishes on laminate flooring.
  • In the case of candle wax or chewing gum sticking to the floor, careful and gentle scraping with a plastic implement is the best way out then remove left over residue with neutral Ph floor cleaner or nail polish remover on a cloth if necessary. With nail polish always test first a small area first to make sure there are no adverse reactions.
  • Place doormats at the entrances of the house and rooms.
  • Fit good quality floor protectors to your furniture especially if it is being moved along the floor regularly (Chairs & Barstools)

Laminate floors do not require much care, because they are coated in a special polymer that protects the wood sheets underneath but overwetting is the killer!
